Style

In short

  • Fronts print on page 1 and matching backs on page 2, laid out to line up when you print both sides.

  • The back of the 4 × 6 in card has writing lines for a name and a personal note; the 3.5 × 2 in insert has a line for a return-order code.

  • 28 Halloween thank you messages, 10 for customers, 9 for party guests and 9 for teachers and coworkers, each have a Copy button.

  • Print the same discount code on the card that you run in your Halloween ads, so the parcel repeats the offer.

  • Browse the templates freely; you sign in when you download, because every card file is a two-page PDF.

How to print double-sided Halloween thank you cards

Printing double-sided Halloween thank you cards at home takes five steps: download, test, print the fronts, print the backs and cut.

  1. Choose a card template. In the free printable Halloween thank you cards gallery, pick Pumpkin patch thank you cards, 4 × 6 in, Cute pastel party thank you cards, 4 × 6 in, or Dark apothecary insert cards, 3.5 × 2 in.
  2. Download the PDF. Select Download Letter PDF or Download A4 PDF to save the two-page file. For example, Download Letter PDF on Dark apothecary insert cards saves ten card fronts and ten backs.
  3. Print a test sheet at 100% / Actual Size. Print both pages on plain paper with the same scale, then hold the sheet up to a window to check that fronts and backs line up.
  4. Print on cardstock. Print page 1 on cardstock, turn the stack over as your printer manual describes, and print page 2 on the back.
  5. Cut along the dashed lines. Trim each card on the dashed lines, then write a name and note on the back of the 4 × 6 in cards.

Halloween thank you cards for small business orders

A thank you card is the one piece of an order that is only there to make the customer feel noticed. In October, a Halloween card does that with a little extra character: a pumpkin-patch border on a knitwear order, a dark apothecary card tucked beside a candle, a pastel ghost in a box of children's hair clips.

Pick a card that matches how you photograph your products, so the card in the box carries on the mood of the listing photo the customer clicked. See the scenes in Halloween product photo ideas.

The front carries the printed thank you; add a personal note on the back of the 4 × 6 in card. For a card you design yourself, the back can carry: a discount code for the next order, a QR code that opens your review page, your social handle or care instructions for what they just bought.

A code on the card, an ad in the feed

If you are running a seasonal promotion, put the same code on the card that you use in your Halloween ads. The customer who found you through an ad sees the code again when the parcel opens, and the next order has an easy reason to happen. Use an example like BOO15 as a pattern: short, seasonal and easy to type. For the ads themselves, see our ideas for Halloween ads.

If you film your packing, a Halloween thank you card can add a seasonal detail to the moment the parcel opens, alongside the product and wrapping you already use.

Put a 4 × 6 in card where it is seen first: on top of the tissue, with the handwritten back facing up. Match its style to the rest of the parcel — a gift tag on the ribbon, a round sticker on the tissue seal — so the box reads as one set on camera. For tags and seals in matching designs, see Printable Halloween gift tags and Halloween stickers.

For your own shot, try lifting a 4 × 6 in card from its envelope with the handwritten back facing the lens.

Thank you cards for parties and Boo Baskets

Thank you cards are not only for shops. After a Halloween party, a card with each guest's name and a line about their costume is a warmer follow-up than a group message. Pick a line from the party list above and write one card per guest.

If you received a You've Been Booed basket, the custom is to boo another house next. A thank you card is a nice way to close the loop if you know who booed you, or to tuck into the basket you pass on. The cute pastel card suits a child's thank you; the pumpkin-patch card works for a neighbor.

For classroom parties, children can sign a card for each volunteer, and teachers can send one home with every pupil. One design with a different name on each card keeps the set tidy, and the business-card size fits inside a small treat bag.

Card sizes, paper and printing

Choosing a size

  • 4 × 6 in — room for a longer handwritten note on the back; a good pick for boxed orders.
  • Business card 3.5 × 2 in — small enough to drop into a jewelry pouch, a sticker sleeve or a treat bag; keep the message to one line.

Double-sided cards

The templates lay out fronts and backs so they line up when you print both sides at the same scale. If your printer can't print both sides automatically, print the fronts, turn the stack over as your printer's manual describes and print the backs.

Paper and finish

Cardstock gives a card that feels like part of the order rather than a receipt. A matte finish is easier to write a personal note on; a smooth white stock makes the artwork bright. Cut along the marked lines with a trimmer for straight edges.

Card sheets come on Letter or A4; for a big order run, a print shop can trim stacks of cards in one cut.
